Leashes Make Life Better for Dogs and People

The Lake Forest Municipal Code requires dogs be kept on a leash less than 6 feet long in public areas such as parks or on walks around your neighborhood.

Loving and caring for a dog can mean training it, feeding it, playing fetch with it and when it is time to go out for a walk placing it on a leash. Any time your dog is off your own property the law states it must be kept on a leash.

The Lake Forest Municipal Code requires dogs be kept on a leash less than 6 feet long in public areas such as parks or on walks around your neighborhood. With regard to the City's 29 parks, the No. 1 complaint has been dogs off leash, which risk the safety and health of other residents and their pets trying to enjoy the park as well. Even if your dog is well-trained and behaves off a leas, it is still important to use a leash in public for the safety of everyone in the park. Love your dog by loving the leash it keeps them and others and safe.
