More than 12,000 people lined the streets of Lake Forest for the 4th of July Parade.
Those visitors, many wearing red-white-and-blue themselves, saw the 27th Annual Parade kicked off by a special appearance by Duke, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The event featured 91 entries, including 23 musical performances, nine car clubs, two equestrian groups and two fire engines – a 1924 vintage truck and a modern day vehicle.
More than 40 members of the Parade Committee worked nearly six months to ensure the event was a success. The 2018 Grand Marshals were John and Rosalie Irish, who have been pivotal Parade Committee members since the first Parade 27 years ago – as long as Lake Forest has been a City.
Eight Parade sponsors also participated: CR&R, Grocery Outlet, Southside Towing, Sweeper Guys, Landon Asbury Real Estate Team, Code Gauchos, Nutrishop and Regal 22.
Volunteers get a little break before planning starts for the 2019 Parade – but not too long. The committee gets back to work on the first Monday in February. Anyone interested in joining the Parade Committee should contact Recreation Manager Laura Lisack at firstname.lastname@example.org
